Artist statement

I paint for the simple reason of saying: “I was here.”

Whatever I choose to paint, whether birds, flowers, plants, landscapes, or an abstract mess of colors, I use those joys to mark my presence across a surface.

My recent work is influenced by the ever-changing seasons that come with contemporary motherhood. Ranging from small still lifes to large abstract paintings, I mostly use acrylics and pastels on canvas, panel, or paper. Through painting, I try to capture parts of myself amidst the chaos that comes with the selfless love and care in raising kids.
